This a picture of our wreath we made. Originally it was a Christmas Tree, but we aren't allowed to have live trees inside our dorm. So we put the Christmas Tree outside, but then we found out that we aren't allowed to have a real one outside because it could get stolen. So, using all the skills we learned from watching Martha Stewart, we cut up the tree and made this beautiful wreath for our front door.

As you can probably tell from the picture...I received my mission call on Thursday October 23, 2008. I didn't open it though until the next day. I have been called by the Lord to serve in the Australia Melbourne West Mission, english speaking. I will be reporting to the MTC in Provo on February 11, 2009. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord. The reality of the call has not quited sunk in yet, it still seems like a dream! But I'm really excited and hope that I'll come back with an awesome accent. As for other things happening in my life.....well, I turn 21 this Thursday (Oct 30) and I'm really excited for that. School is going great and I'm loving every minute of it. But other than that, nothing is really happening, but I'll be sure to keep you updated. I hope everybody has a super day!!!

College!!!! :)

Hey guys!
Just wanted to give you an update on how i am doing up at school. The first picture is me and some of my friends going to an 80's dance. You guys should have seen some of the costumes there, people are very serious when it comes to this type of thing. It was great! The second picture is me and my roommates at a paint dance last monday. For homecoming, clubs get a section of the main road on campus to paint however they want it and then there's a contest of who did the best paint job. There was also a giant tent filled with buckets of paint and we had a huge paint fight while dancing! it was so much fun!! My classes are just peachy they're getting a lot easier now that i know what i have to do and i am finally figuring out how to manage my time. Which means that i can't party as much, that's no bueno! Life is great I finally got a calling in my ward, i'm in the enrichment committee, Wahoo!! i'll let ya know how that goes. I have to go prepare my lesson for family home evening tonight so see ya when i see ya! have a great week!

Question from a roommate

Last night i was talking with one of my roommates that is not a member of our church. She had a question about why we believe that Christ took upon our sins in the Garden where he bled from every pore and not when he died on the cross. I guess in her church they do not believe that he bled from every pore, and that he took upon him our sins on the cross. So my other roommates and I spent all night looking for scriptures in the bible that said that he bled from every pore and took upon our sins in the garden rather than the cross and we couldn't find any. One of my roommates even asked the missionaries up here and they gave her D&C 19: 16-19, but that is more of a modern day revelation and she wanted more of a bible reference. So i was wondering if you guys could help me out! :)

October 19

Maybe I need to switch things up a hair. It's been a couple weeks for a couple things. Posts on here is one. More than one person in class is the other. I must use some crazy triage skills to decide which issue to tackle first. Until then, keep up the good work wherever this finds you.

I remember days of standing room only for my lessons. I remember days of standing ovations with encores for my lessons. I remember days of transcripts from my lessons being immediately shuttled to ENSIGN HQ for the next month issue. I remember these things. Was it all a dream?

Roll Call 9/28

Hey Hey Hey! This blog is starting to catch fire. Unfortunately, the class room is not. But we will take it anyways! Thank you to all that check in here regularly. And really thank you to those that post.

I was hoping that Tom Barber would grace us with his inaugaral post with his news but still quiet as a church mouse. Not to let the cat out just in case he decides to Choose The Right and post his new news. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and say that perhaps his XBOX got in the way or something.

I can't talk all bad about him however seeing how he MADE IT TO CLASS. Bro. Westover also came and is running a nice little streak. Thanks for making my week fellas. I must say that I know that a few of you were in town suspiously last weekend and dissappeared at 10:15ish. I will look into the matter.

Well, enough from me. I turn the podium back over to you for another week. We would like to wrap things up at about 5 past the hour. Have a good one everyone. Mom too.

ME

Hey! I finally figured out how to make a post thanks to Sister Thacker so hopefully i'll be able to keep you guys updated on what i'm doing at school. So far school has been great, lots of late night parties :) and i've met lots of new people on my floor and in my ward. Don't worry though i still have been keeping up on my homework, well trying to at least. It's really weird living away from home you have to do everything for yourself now. The first time i tried to make cookies i used the microwave as a timer because we don't have one and i ended up breaking the microwave, don't worry it started working again the next morning. I'm learning how to cook a bunch of different Asian dishes from one of my roommates, but if you guys have any good recipes you should let me know! The ward i'm in now is really nice, it is weird not having you guys in all my classes though, and the boys up at school definately aren't as funny as you guys are. These are the most recent pictures i had of me so I decided to put them on til i can get some crazy ones of me and my roommates up. There are six girls in my apartment. So far we've all gotten along really well, they're all pretty crazy and random like i am so it works out perfectly. We haven't gotten into any real trouble yet up here so hopefully it will stay that way for the rest of the year. That's all i've really been up to lately but i'll keep you all updated! Talk to ya later! BYE:)

LDS Stake Growth 1830-2004

Here we go, my first post.

I would just like everyone to see my athletic ability especially Brother Ford.  I'm not just good at boom blocks.  Anyway I know I look mad.  Really I'm a nice person except for when I'm in a race or some other competition.  I don't know who I'm mad at though because there was no one in front of me because I was first.  (I wish)  Anyway for those of you wondering photoshop was not used at all in the production of this picture.  This is the real deal.  And yes I signed it, so when I become famous all of you can look back at this and you can say oh he signed a picture that was on the up a Deuel Creek blog.  You can thank me later.

Was that an ok post?

Roll Call 9/21

What a class today. Ward conference has nothing on this class. We had 3 reps from the stake come sit in. Count em. 3!!! Were we even fazed? Bring it on. The lesson went over without a hitch and will most likely find its way into the Ensign within a few months.
I must say that the two Westover boys really shined. Full of insight and inspiration. They really made me proud.

Which leads me to a lessor note. A cameo, while still nice, was made by Philip and Chadd. Some lame farewell swept them away just as the lesson started to get good. I might have to scan the clipper to verify of said farewell actually happening. I wish I could trust them. So much for credibility. It is something earned.

Onward anywho. Have a great week and don't be ashamed to drop a post. Next week's class promises to be even better as we prepare for the big general conference.

A holler from Nebraska - home of corn

Hi,

This is Kendall's mom. Sorry, I'm sure you would like to hear directly from Kendall. Maybe we can get him to write Bro. B so you can get his words directly!
He's doing great. He and his companion, Elder Divecha, from Sandy, Utah are working hard and trying their best to get their investigators over the hurdle of smoking so they can be baptized.
He is laboring in the field of Nebraska City, NE, right on the border of Iowa. He rides his orange bike up and down hills (who said the heartland was flatland??), been out to eat at members' homes lots, entertained the Primary children with games at a ward activity, and fed the cows. He's still true blue, despite living in Cornhusker country. He loves his mission and is learning lots about following the Spirit's direction and seeing little miracles everyday. He was among a group of 9 Elders & 3 sisters who all arrived in Omaha together. When he walked to the laundry area at the MTC, he paused by the statue of Samuel Smith. Do you think Samuel had that much laundry to do on his mission?

Update.

Very disapointing Sunday. One dude shows up for class. I was forced to shelve probably one of the best discourses ever on Samuel the Lamonite. My wife and I escourted Tom Barber to Brother Whipple's class where we enjoyed his dynamite lesson. NEW RULE. You either show up for class or you write on here every week. I think I am being more than tolerant.

YOU GET TO CHOOSE. But choose wisely.

Here are just a few fun pictures! This was my first time ever going to the sand dunes in Rexburg! I had so much fun. The sand was like water, it was that smooth and so you can imagine how hard it was to play football and climb up this hill. We would fall everytime we took a step forward so it was a great workout too! Oh how I love Rexburg! I'm into the semester about a week now and my classes aren't too difficult as long as I manage my time! I was called just recently to be the second counselor in Relief Society A and I feel so blessed to be able to work with the women of the church. I sure hope all is well in Centerville and we'll talk to you soon! Have a "Fran"-tastic day!!

Roll Call

First of all, I refuse to let this blog die. Second of all, I think everyone here wants to know what was missed last Sunday in class.

The lesson was probably one of the top 10 lessons ever taught in the history of the new building. Also it is worth noting that Derek Hunter came on his last week on civility. Also Chad Westover and Uncle Tom Barber made an apperance. I know. What was the occasion you ask? Only the one of the top 10 lessons ever taught in the history of the new building.

You guys better start posting stuff on here or the annual FORD UP A DEUEL CREEK CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGANZA CRAZINESS PARTY is in serious jeopardy. Don't make me say this again. That is all for now. Have a good week.

First timer

I will be honest. Although you all think I am master of everything, I must confess, I am a mere beginner at blogging. Until I perfect the blogging art, please bear with.

Now the pic you see is simply my most valued possesion. It is by this means, I am able to access the local high school's stomps. I really wanted just to show you all that at one time I was really cool so maybe now you could think of me as still sort of cool? Yes? No?

Outstanding. Simply Outstanding. Handsome. Simply Handsome. Nice work on the farewell. You knocked it out. Key: Plenty of jokes. Room for Improvement: Mention and thank Bro Ford for everything I did. Otherwise, Perfect delivery.

College in the HOLY LAND

We moved down to college today. It is pretty much wiggedy wack down here. We'll keep you posted on our social lives and such. Go Cougars!
I am currently waiting, impatiently I might add, for school to start. I will be leaving September 3rd to go up to Rexburg and school at BYU-Idaho (Ricks College) will start September 8th. I love Rexburg because it is where my social life is....although if it wasn't for Young Single Adult Sunday School Class (that is a mouthful) I wouldn't have a social life at all. So I do appreciate Centerville as well. I'm so excited that Brother and Sister Ford are our teachers and saddened that I don't get to be here very long to get to know them, but I'm sure this awesome blog will help. Thanks Sister Ford!

School is starting.

I'm supposed to be in my first week of teaching. However, because we are moving into a new school this year the first day of school is going to be September 8th. I'm happy and sad about that. I'd like to get started teaching... but I don't want to teach in a crappy building. However going into July is not my idea either... This is a picture of me and one of my senior's (Leah) from last year. She's a good kid. I don't know how much time I will actually be in the class with you all as I do like to spend a lot of time in Provo with freinds and my fiance Jake.
Love Heidi
